About Us
Meet Zona owner of Zona’s Drapery House an award winning fabrication and design studio.
With a passion for sewing and pattern making skills, Zona began making custom window treatments, roman shades, and top treatments in 1981. With the request of interior designers and clients she later added upholstery and slipcovers to her repertoire. Zona takes pride in handcrafting each item personally, creating one of a kind, artisan designs. Her consistent high-quality and skilled workmanship has spread among local customers, providing her opportunities to work with some of Des Moines most talented designers, along with growing her clientele base.
Zona’s Drapery House is an award winning workroom. She submitted some of her work to a national contest and was awarded a 1st place and 3rd place for her outstanding craftsmanship and design.
Zona attends conferences and seminars for her continuing education in order to increase her knowledge of the latest fabrication techniques. While attending trade shows she learns about the latest tools and equipment to ensure her work is unsurpassed She has also shared her knowledge with her piers teaching at conferences, Custom Home Furnishings School, and on-line webinars.
